2.Follows clinic specific protocols and/or professional judgment and assessment skills to identify the nature and urgency of patient needs to determine the appropriate disposition.
3.Provides patient education and advice to improve continuity of care, avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency room and reduce risks from medical complications.
4.Collects sufficient data related to the presenting problem and medical history and recognizes and mates symptom patterns to those in clinic protocols to be able to provide safe, timely disposition of health-related problems.
5.Refills medications per clinic specific protocols.
6.Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
Position will implement and sustain the outpatient clinic nursing model and the nurse triage functionality in each clinic. Function of this position will require visits to campus clinics helping current nursing staff learn to use the Epic Nurse Triage module; excellent communication skills are a must.
The ideal candidate would have a strong knowledge of triage preferably with Emergency Room experience or experience in a nurse call center.
Position will not contain any direct patient contact other than phone conversations.
