The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a full time rehabilitation psychologist at the Faculty rank commensurate with his/her academic and professional experience.  The selected candidate will have a joint faculty appointment in the Departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Psychiatry. The position will entail clinical evaluations and therapeutic interventions for adults on the Zale/Lipshy inpatient rehabilitation unit and in the outpatient programs. The ideal candidate will have experience providing neurobehavioral assessment and rehabilitation counseling services in a medical setting. Spanish-bilingual applicants are particularly encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to work with a bilingual, Spanish-English, bi-cultural, Rehab Psych Board Certified colleague.  Opportunities for supervision of psychology trainees and collaborative research will also be available.

The position requires a doctorate in rehabilitation or clinical psychology from an accredited university and the candidate to be eligible for Texas licensure.  The candidate will be board admissible or board certified in Rehabilitation Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-RP).

The Department of PM&R includes 26 board-certified physiatrists, as well as 33 residents and 4 fellows. We have busy inpatient and outpatient practices at UT Southwestern Medical Center as well as at our teaching county hospital, Parkland Health and Hospital System. We have a growing emphasis on the neurosciences and brain disorders under the O’Donnell Brain Institute.
