The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dallas, Texas, is seeking a physiatrist to serve as the PM&R Residency Program Co-Director. Faculty rank will be determined by level of experience. The Department of PM&R includes 33 residents and 4 fellows. We have busy inpatient and outpatient practices at UT Southwestern as well as at our teaching county hospital, Parkland Health and Hospital System, the Dallas VA Medical Center, and Children’s Health.
Qualifications: Candidates must be board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Texas Medical License is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in academic setting with teaching and research experience.
Duties include: The Residency Program Co-Director, will have dedicated protected time to establish educational goals, knowledge and skill expectations for the residents at each level of training; develop and implement program policies compatible with accreditation and institutional requirements and policies; develop curriculum to ensure appropriate education both professionally and academically for the resident house staff; supervise and evaluate resident performance and progress along with the current Co-Director. 60% of the co-residency program director’s time will be spent in direct patient care activities at UTSW facilities and Parkland Health and Hospital System.
