The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks exceptional scientists with highly innovative cancer-relevant research programs for appointment to tenure-track faculty positions. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with experience.
Successful applicants will join an interactive and multi-disciplinary faculty in one of the country's leading academic medical centers and will receive outstanding resource and infrastructure support. The candidates will benefit from a robust Cancer Biology Ph.D. granting program that attracts outstanding trainees.
UT Southwestern Medical Center is home to many nationally and internationally recognized physicians and scientists, including six Nobel Laureates, 23 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 19 members of the National Academy of Medicine. The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center includes 210 clinicians and scientists who are working together to translate the institution’s outstanding science for the benefit of patients.
Competitive applicants must have a relevant Ph.D. or M.D. degree and postdoctoral training, and show evidence of a firm commitment to an independent research career. Outstanding candidates will be eligible for a position as a Cancer Preventive Research Institute of Texas Scholar in Cancer Research (http://www.cprit.state.tx.us).
