Experience and Education


Successful completion of two-year program for Occupational Therapist Assistant that meets standards established and approved by American Occupational Therapy Association, certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant, licensure by State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners, and no experience required.

Job Duties


Prepares patients, treatment areas, and equipment for administration of prescribed occupational therapy programs.
Assists occupational therapists in implementing treatment programs of patients, including therapeutic exercises, fine/gross motor skills, ADL's, general conditioning and strengthening, visual motor and perceptual skills, design and fabrication of splint/ orthotic equipment modalities, and selection and use of adaptive equipment.
Instructs patients and their families concerning therapeutic home program as prescribed by occupational therapist.
Assists in maintenance of records relating to treatment of patients.
Performs other duties as assigned.
