The UT Southwestern School of Health Professions at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas seeks applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling. This is a full-time 12 month position with faculty rank, preferably Associate Professor or Professor, to be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications. The chair reports to the Dean of the School of Health Professions and works collaboratively with university administrators, other department chairs, faculty, and staff. As Chair of the department, an individual will be expected to provide strong leadership in the advancement of the CORE accredited graduate program in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling including such things as curriculum development, student recruitment, faculty development, and maintenance of accreditation standards. The Chair will also oversee clinical growth, research initiatives, and financial operations in the department. Candidates must possess a doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Psychology, Rehabilitation Administration, Counseling Psychology, or closely related field.
It is highly preferred that the selected candidate has certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or be CRC eligible on hire.
Successful candidates will provide evidence of excellent teaching, successful research programs, outstanding clinical care as well as strong administrative and leadership skills.
