The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine , seeks an experienced academic hospitalist to serve as Chief of Parkland Health Hospital System Hospitalist Medicine. Candidates must have or be eligible for a Texas medical license and board certified in Internal Medicine. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.
The Chief of Parkland Health and Hospital System Hospitalist Medicine is responsible for all aspects of an integrated hospital medicine program for this large public safety net hospital and will lead a growing group of 30+ hospitalists. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience as an academic hospitalist in a large hospital medicine program and have proven scheduling, leadership and managerial skills. Training and experience in clinical research, quality improvement and patient safety activities are also desirable.
The Parkland Hospital-based Center for Knowledge Translation and Clinical Innovation provides numerous opportunities to be involved in cutting edge data-driven, inpatient-oriented health services research and quality improvement activities. Hospitalist teams include physicians, mid-levels, pharmacists, case managers and social workers.
