Clinical Psychologist – UT Southwestern Medical Center, Psychology Services at Parkland, Chief
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, is seeking an outstanding clinical psychologist for an Assistant or Associate Professor position to serve as Chief of the Psychology Service at Parkland Health and Hospital System. The position is primarily clinical, with a focus on delivering both outpatient and inpatient services, although the Chief of the service must also provide strong supervisory and administrative leadership. In this capacity, the individual will work with Psychology and Psychiatry leadership to oversee and optimize clinical operations provided by the nine other psychologists within the expanding Parkland system. The faculty member will also have an opportunity to participate the training of psychology graduate students and interns through our APA-accredited training program and predoctoral internship in clinical psychology. Ample opportunities for research collaboration also exist across the rich environment of the UT Southwestern campus.
Parkland Health and Hospital Systems features a new state-of-the-art 862-bed, 17-story hospital. As one of the largest public hospital systems in the country, Parkland averages more than 1 million patient visits annually, and is the primary teaching hospital for UTSW. In addition to Parkland, UTSW also offers patient services at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and Zale Lipshy University Hospital, and partners with a network of affiliated hospitals including Children’s Medical Center Dallas and the VA Medical Center at Dallas.
We are seeking a candidate with experience and interest in clinical leadership as well as expertise in clinical service delivery. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection for the position, it is strongly encouraged that licensure is secured prior to starting in the position. Psychologists licensed out of state are still strongly encouraged to apply.
