Experience and Education
1.Financial Management - Develop, implement, and monitor operating budgets for the research and administrative enterprises.
2.Human Resource Management - Direct and manage all human resources processes and systems, in consultation with the SCCC senior leadership team.
3.Organizational Planning - Develop and implement short- and long-range strategic plans to ensure operational efficiency and success.
4.Systems Development - Develop and execute a robust informatics capability for the SCCC. Direct the development and continuous upgrading of management information systems.
5.Space and Facilities Management - Direct and oversee the planning and utilization of all administrative and research space. Assure that environmental health and safety standards are adhered to.
6.Program Planning and Development - Identify and analyze organizational needs for new or revised programs. Assume administrative responsibilities for new program implementation, including budget, staffing, space, equipment, etc.
7.Internal Communications - Direct the production and maintenance of all internet and intranet based communications, and manage the production and distribution of all research related communications, such as the Cancer Center Bulletin.
8.Capital Improvements - Liaise with UTSW Budget and Resource Planning, faculty, and outside architects to plan construction or renovation of new or existing spaces while maintaining cost-controls.
9.Research, Education/Training - Oversee the development of methods for collecting, processing, and retrieving data to support program goals. Responsible for coordination of submission of NCI-grant. Direct the planning and implementation of major educational and scientific meetings.
10.Institutional Relations - Represent the SCCC to local, state, federal, and public agencies and organizations.
11.Participation in Clinical Care Strategy and Management - In cooperation with the Associate Vice President for Clinical Programs and the Clinical Director, work to integrate the research activities and resources of the SCCC with those of the Cancer Center's clinical enterprise.
