Experience and Education
Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Public Admin, or related field and ten (10) years progressively responsible experience managing financial and operational affairs of complex and diversified organization, with five (5) years of experience in an academic or healthcare organization.
Supervisory experience required.
Plan and direct the financial operations for the Department of Internal Medicine - planning, budgeting, analysis, accounting, revenue cycle, and control. Establish functional strategic and operating goals for the finance function in support of the overall strategic goals for the Department.
Build and maintain a culture of continuous improvement for financial operations. Maintain an effective working relationship with Health Systems management, ensuring that departmental financial issues are appropriately addressed.
Collaborate with Division Chiefs and Division Administrators to ensure that the each division's financial function is appropriately managed and that departmental resources are available for mentoring. Function as part of the management team with regard to overall departmental operations.
Provide analysis and guidance with regard to contract negotiations. Proactively address financial strategies pertaining to efficient resource utilization and organizational compliance.
Direct the development and implementation of financial modeling. Direct the annual budget process for all aspects of clinical operations.
Collaborate with Health System leadership in areas such as program development, financial analysis, and planning.
Create and nurture a culture of continuous improvement with appropriate mentoring for financial staff.
Direct departmental reporting, both financial and managerial. Collaborate with departmental administrative manager with regard to maintaining updated policies and procedures, and ensuring communication of same to all employees.
Oversee all departmental audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
