Experience and Education
Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BA/BSN required; Master's preferred. Seven (7) - Ten (10) years management experience in Cardiopulmonary and Vascular Services; ICU and/or Cath Lab experience preferred. Current State of Texas Registered Nurse License.
Directs and manages the administrative and patient care activities of the Department. Provides leadership and collaboration in determining nursing standards of care, standards of practice, scope of service and the application of evidence-based practice for the multidisciplinary team.
Ensures that Cath Lab Services are compliant with the recommended standards of governing bodies including: The Joint Commission, CMS for Conditions of Participation, and others.
Responsible for the measurement, assessment, and continuous improvement of the department's clinical safety, quality, and efficiency.
Ensures satisfactory relationships with medical staff including clear and concise communication_regarding Cath Lab, IR and EP services and hospital issues.
Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department.
Oversees both short and long term planning in all aspects of management, including facilities, equipment, personnel and staff development, business development and marketing. Collaborates effectively with ancillary departments, Nursing and others to ensure all perspectives and issues are surfaced and proactively addressed.
Provides leadership and direction for Cath Lab and procedural serivces at University Hospitals. Oversees the fiscal, technical and patient care activities of the cardiovascular invasive diagnostic and interventional radiology suites, to ensure efficient operations, providing input on the hospital's strategic initiatives and developing tactical strategies for assigned departments and srvcs.
Plans and organizes all functions and activities within assigned area, ensures compliance with regulatory and governing agencies and established hospital standards, practices, and procedures. Works cooperatively with Directors and Managers to ensure smooth operation of hospital and department and works cooperatively with Medical Staff in pursuit of quality of care, clinical and operational objectives.
