Director of Next Generation Sequencing

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pathology is seeking an accomplished Director of Next Generation Sequencing. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of a Next Generation Sequencing Clinical Program focused on targeted gene panels, whole exome and ultimately whole genomic sequencing from fresh or fixed patient-derived material. The candidate is expected to have ongoing and substantial experience in the technology, regulatory requirements, and creation of clinical reporting, data storage, bioinformatics and administration of a NGS CLIA laboratory. Must also have experience in the direction of technologists and junior faculty. Knowledge of outreach a plus. Depending on research productivity and interests, research laboratory space and startup funds could be also available. MD, MD/PhD, or PhD required with Board Certification in Molecular Diagnostics/Pathology or Molecular Genetics. Appointment will be considered at any rank. Must possess or be eligible for a Texas medical license.
