Evaluates and implements data system components under the direction of Managers and other levels of Systems Administrators or engineers.
Assists with responses to security incidents to prevent additional loss and obtains and preserves forensic evidence.
Installs hardware and software in accordance with established guidelines including: Operating Systems, database software and other application systems.
Performs remediation of identified system security vulnerabilities based on existing procedures.
Troubleshoots system components and recommends improvements in support of an efficient, highly available data center operation.
Provide support for Call Center (HEAT) incidents.
Conducts coordinated testing of system design including recovery procedures.
Remains knowledgeable of changes in technology, industry practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Works under general direction to perform basic systems administration and project task duties on large-scale computer systems in a multi-disciplined (clinical, business, academic, education) data center environment.
This position specifically supports a large Microsoft Windows/Active Directory/Exchange/Skype environment encompassing a wide ranges of services and applications. These include both local and cloud-based messaging resources. Basic experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system, Active Directory, Exchange and Skype for Business, Office365 and all associated services/applications is required. This includes the following areas of expertise: AD object management, group policy management, Windows OS management, OS performance tuning, OS security configuration, LDAP/ADFS/DirSync/IDM configuration, basic PowerShell scripting and routed, multi-subnet, multi-protocol networks. Messaging experience specifically to include basic experience/understanding of O365 hybrid mode connectivity, Exchange role installations, DAG configurations, understanding of SMTP, IMAP, POP3, ActiveSync and HTTPS protocol/device connectivity methods, experiencing with message tracking, identifying and troubleshooting issues, and Exchange-centric Powershell commands. Experience with IPv6 or Microsoft ForeFront Identity Manager very beneficial. Current Microsoft certification in any related disciplines very beneficial.
