The Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking BC/BE neurologists eligible for Texas medical licensure with specialized training in epilepsy to join our growing staff of adult and pediatric epileptologists at our NEAC Level 4 epilepsy center. Candidates are being recruited for both junior and senior-level positions; faculty appointments will be at any level, commensurate with experience and credentials. Candidates should be focused on providing outstanding clinical care and participating in clinical research, as well as share in a passion for education of our multiple clinical neurophysiology/epilepsy fellows. Ideal candidates should have completed a 2-year fellowship in epilepsy, and have a strong interest in long-term ICU EEG monitoring, epilepsy monitoring, and epilepsy surgery; an additional interest in intra-operative monitoring would also be desirable. The UTSW adult epilepsy program admits several hundred patients annually to the 11 bed EMU, which will be moving into new state-of-the art facilities within the next year. We boast a busy surgical epilepsy program, with the ability to perform Wada testing, electrocorticography, cortical mapping, and invasive EEG monitoring using stereo-EEG and/or subdural grids and strips. UTSW is an approved NeuroPace center. Additionally, several thousand EEGs and evoked potentials are performed annually across the campus, including growing utilization of 24 hr bedside EEGs.
