Experience and Education

High school graduate and at least two (2) years of hospital and medical office experience is preferred.

Job Duties

Process complete and accurate primary and secondary claims daily.
Resolve system edits and claims errors in a timely manner.
Provides subject matter expertise to HIM, Collections, and Operation areas.
Communicates educational information as needed upon 3rd party payor changes which impact billing and/or reimbursement.
Informs Manager of all edits pertaining to hard coded revenue areas.
Keeps upper management informed of system delays or issues that would delay or prevent daily billing activity.
Performs reconciliation of claims dropping from Siemens into claims editor.
Participates in educating departmental staff of billing changes pertinent to the success of the department.
Utilize system tools and department resources to achieve production and quality targets for resolution of patient accounts.
Investigates and responds to questions or requests for additional information in a timely and professional manner to ensure proper, timely, and accurate payment of patient accounts.
Attends in-services, classes and meetings related to all operations to the PFS department. Understands reimbursement of all 3rd party payors.
Performs other duties as required.
