Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree in related field and two years experience in human research, medical care, laboratory research, or regulatory affairs.  

Job Duties

Analyzes protocols and supporting documents to ensure conformance with all applicable regulations, statutes, policies, and procedures.     
Coordinates regulatory committee review of human subjects and protocols, including management of Institutional Review Board (IRB) committee functions such as creation of agendas, minutes, memos, and other documentation to investigators.    
Communicates with investigators and assists research staff with study preparation.  Provides feedback from convened meetings or expedited/designated reviews.     
Performs post-approval monitoring.  Develops and provides educational programs for investigators, research personnel, and others to promote institutional compliance with research regulations.    
Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities, including participation in development and refinement of data management tools.     
Collaborates with Cancer Center, Environmental Health & Safety, and other regulatory entities at UTSWMC to provide optimal regulatory services for investigators.     
Reads literature, attends training sessions, and other functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific, regulatory, and technical developments related to human research.     
Performs other duties as assigned.
