Medical Director for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is seeking an outstanding full-time attending psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service (C/L) at Parkland Memorial Hospital. This service is committed to providing comprehensive mental health services to adult medical/surgical/obstetrical/ED patients at Parkland.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellent clinical and clinical-teaching skills, an academic track record, as well as experience in medical administration, quality improvement and associated budgetary issues. This is a high profile, visible position that offers great opportunity for development and career enhancement.
This is an open rank position; academic rank of appointment will be commensurate with experience. The academic C/L Service includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing, social work and a variety of trainees, including general psychiatry residents, C/L fellows, medical students, and graduate students. This faculty position includes direct patient care and clinical teaching and supervision. Clinical duties include interface with patients, families and providers from a wide variety of other medical/surgical/obstetrical services in the care of patients.
Candidates must have or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License and must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full time schedule.
