Experience and Education

Minimum of 2 years experience in quality improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma and/or other improvement methodologies as well as working knowledge of process improvement methods, statistical control techniques and database applications preferred. Experience manipulating large relational databases preferred. Knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC Standards and CMS Conditions of Participation) and data collection methodologies. Two or more years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
Registered Nurse. Master¿s of Health Administration, Business Administration or Public Health preferred.
Current Texas (or BNE Compact State) Registered Nurse license. CPHQ certification preferred, or willing to obtain.
Excellent communication and team building skills. Strong skills with Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, PowerPoint; EPIC EMR, SRTR, ACC-NCDR, UNOS UNET, INTERMACS Registries.


Job Duties

1. Demonstrates continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall annual Hospital performance improvement targets.
2. Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department.
3. Ensures compliance with TJC, CMS, UNOS and other regulatory standards
4. Responsible for monitoring the Transplant Program's QAPI Program. Works with each Team to design, maintain, monitor, revise and report on the organ specific QAPI Program. Provides expertise in data collection, reporting methodologies and ongoing monitoring to ensure sustained improvement in processes; collaborates with faculty, service line leaders and staff to proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
5. Ensures accurate and timely data submission for national registries including ACC/CathPCI, ICD, ACTION, Tiedi, and others. Provides registry outcomes/performance reports to key stakeholders including Division Chiefs, Medical Directors, Administration, and appropriate Quality and Regulatory committees. Develops recommendations from these outcome reports and works with the Team to develop action plans for improvement.
6. Leads Process Improvement Teams, documents progress and monitors ongoing status. Works across all departments as necessary. Participates with colleagues in the Office of Health System Quality to ensure flow of information, planning, and alignment with strategic direction.
