Operates multiline telephone, answers all calls promptly, records and provides accurate messages to staff and triages calls in a timely manner. Sorts mail; assists willingly with other administrative duties as assigned.
Operates departmental office equipment: fax, copier, computer systems including data bases.
Manages the front desk: maintains the waiting area, registers patients (logs/insurance cards), enters charges.
Schedules patients to include new evaluations, clinic visits, tests and follow-up visits. Maintains logs, verifies that patient registration number is current.
Makes hospital rounds to lab, pharmacy, radiology, central supply and other departments as necessary.
Types departmental correspondence efficiently and accurately. Maintains organized patient medical records. Keeps filing up to date.
Assumes accountability for all actions in the workplace. Utilizes downtime to assist others and/or to provide additional amenities to patients and/or families.
Effective patient/family advocate. Responds to patient's and/or patients family's complaints in an appropriate and effective manner. Reports complaints to the Manager or their designee in a timely manner. Utilizes the chain of command appropriately to resolve patient, operational, or personal work related problems.
Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Attends at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and attends 100% of mandatory educational sessions.
Maintains organized and uniform patient medical records, keeping filing up to date.
Performs other duties as assigned.
