The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding individual for a faculty position within our pediatric outpatient service. In addition, it would be highly desirable for the candidate to have strong echocardiographic skills, including transthoracic, fetal and transesophageal echocardiography.
While the primary focus of this position will be in supporting pediatric cardiology outreach initiatives, the ideal candidate will have the skills and training to perform fetal echocardiograms and support other echocardiographic services.
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at UT Southwestern provides all the cardiology services for Children’s Health, Dallas. The Heart Center is ranked in the top 12 heart centers by US News & World Report. The division is currently made up of 26 cardiologists and all pediatric cardiology subspecialties are well represented. Over 600 surgeries, 1000 catheterizations, and 250 MRI studies are performed in the Heart Center annually. The division is currently expanding our outreach services throughout the north Texas region.
Candidates should have a proven record of academic success and demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills. Applicants should have completed a General Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship and must be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas. Applicant should also be either board eligible or hold current certification in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. Academic title will be commensurate with academic credentials. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time status.
