The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology is seeking to hire an exceptional clinical investigator or physician-scientist at UT Southwestern and Children’s Health Dallas.

The search focuses on individuals interested in leading the Hematology program within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and who will maintain and build upon the world-class reputation established in Dallas for pediatric Hematology. Priorities will include identifying and recruiting additional physician investigators in bone marrow failure, sickle cell disease and vascular anomalies. The successful applicant will help create the streamlined interaction for the Hematology program with growing efforts in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology toward clinical and translational programs in precision medicine, disease biology and pathogenesis, and health outcomes/analytics. Candidates will have the opportunity to interface with other laboratory and clinical researchers in the Division and across the UT Southwestern campus, participating in multidisciplinary teams focused on improving the care of children with cancer and blood disorders.

The applicant would join a vibrant and growing Division consisting of 23 other full-time faculty members with excellent clinical, clinical research, and laboratory programs fully developed to cover a broad range of relevant topics.  Researchers will be supported by exceptional infrastructure and core facilities available on the UT Southwestern campus, including the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Children’s Research Institute, and will benefit from the presence of excellent Post-doctoral and graduate student training programs.  Competitive packages will be provided, commensurate with applicant’s experience and potential.  Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and be board eligible or certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.  Academic title will be commensurate with the academic credentials.  Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time status.
