The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, together with Children’s Health Dallas, seek a medical geneticist.  This clinician will join a growing clinical Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism, directed by Dr. Ralph DeBerardinis.  The Division is responsible for the diagnosis and care of children with genetic and metabolic diseases at Children’s Health Dallas, and in the neonatal units of University-affiliated hospitals, including Parkland Hospital, a large county hospital with over 16,000 deliveries per year. We seek applicants at any level of experience in dysmorphology and/or inborn errors of metabolism. A unique component of this position is the integration of our clinical Division with the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute (CRI), a new and highly collaborative basic and translational research institute dedicated to performing transformative research related to pediatric health (  Expansion of the clinical Division is synchronized with the initiation of a Genetic and Metabolic Disease program within the CRI, with the major goal to discover new molecular mechanisms underlying inherited diseases in children. A robust clinical Division is an essential component of this vision.

Children’s Health Dallas is a 500 bed facility that provides the majority of pediatric inpatient care for the Dallas metropolitan area.  The Division if Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism has a full range of support staff and an ACGME-approved residency program in Medical Genetics. UT Southwestern Medical Center is one of the nation's top medical schools, providing an outstanding environment for clinical care, training and research.  The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex boasts a strong economy, a wide range of cultural and recreational opportunities, and many communities with affordable high quality housing and excellent schools.

Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and be board eligible or certified in Clinical Genetics.  Compensation and academic title will be commensurate with academic credentials.  Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time status.
