The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pathology, is seeking applicants for TWO academic positions at Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Pediatric Pathology Division. The positions require experience in all facets of pediatric and perinatal pathology and demonstrated accomplishments in research. Preference will be given to candidates with interest/additional training/experience in pediatric GI/liver or perinatal/placental pathology. The applicant must have an M.D., M.D./ PhD. or D.O., be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology (preferred) or Anatomic Pathology, be board-eligible or certified in Pediatric Pathology, and have or be eligible for a Texas medical license.
The primary clinical responsibilities are at the 487-bed, tertiary care, Children’s Medical Center, Dallas, TX with 9500 surgical specimens, 100 perinatal and pediatric autopsies, and 3000 placentas annually. Additional clinical responsibilities are at the 72-bed Children’s Medical Center, Plano, TX and other Children’s Health outreach locations. In addition to patient care activities, the incumbent will be expected to participate in departmental and institutional activities, medical student and house staff teaching and mentoring and develop or continue their research program.
