Experience and Education


-  Bachelor Degree in Nursing. NRP and BCLS required-  At least three (3) years experience in Level III Neonatal Intensive Care-  Valid driver's license

Job Duties


1.  Recommend initiatives to address improvement opportunities borne out of data tracking and analysis from within the NICU (events and outcomes)  and via national databases (Vermont Oxford Network and other sources). Collaborates with NICU Medical Director and NICU Manager on initiatives as appropriate, implements training and partners with staff and education to improve quality outcomes.
2.  Presents, communicates and engages NICU staff on quality data.  Presents NICU Quality to all staff within Women and Infant's Service Line as appropriate to enhance staff knowledge and infant outcomes.
3.  Attend and facilitate all Quality Assessment/Process Improvement meetings to assure staff understanding and engagement in related processes and initiatives.  Collates data in PDCA formats as needed for regulatory and/or other purposes.  Design reports, analyses and graphic presentation to communicate database volumes, statistics, and other data points.
4. Collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine, Children's Fetal Program,  Children's Transport Team , UTSW Neonatal Intensive Care and all other inter-hospital service providers involved in the care of perinatal patients.  Provide outreach initiatives and onsite/offsite competency and information sharing opportunities referring physicians about current treatment modalities for high-risk situations.  Collaborate in efforts to educate the public about the kinds of services available and their accessibility.
5.  Capture, track and analyze physician referral and referred patient data.  communication back to referral sites/providers as appropriate.  Coordinates plan of care to include appointments for follow-up of referred patients/infants.
