Experience and Education
Demonstrates decision-making skills in patient assessment and care plan design based on desired outcomes of therapy, clinical data, consultation with physicians and progress of patient.
Assesses patient and families knowledge deficit regarding Cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, therapeutic procedures, smoking cessation.
Adheres to department administrative procedures of error free patient charge entry, timely and concise shift report and accurate documentation. Updates all department patient records. Follows all procedures for utilizing M.A.R. on nursing units.
Demonstrates activities consistent with financial objectives of department in use of disposable supplies and equipment change out. Offers suggestions for efficient use of all resources in department.
Assumes and performs charge therapist duties when assigned according to departmental policies. Reports all relative patient care and equipment issues to charge therapist. Requests assistance from charge therapist when appropriate.
Assists in writing procedures, gives inservices recognized as necessary by individual.
Maintains knowledge of infrequently used equipment and ordered patient therapeutics.
Takes responsibility for maintaining supplies and equipment in all areas of hospital. Reports and follows through to biomedical on equipment in need of repair.
Participates in Quality Assurance departmental activities and objectives.
Assists physicians with special procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
