Responsibilities
Job Summary
UT Southwestern is seeking a talented and experienced Compensation Consultant to evaluate, analyze, and develop creative solutions on a variety of compensation projects. This position will also provide the highest level of consultative services for compensation programs and practices. This is a 6+ month temporary assignment with full benefits.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the following:
- Create a comprehensive job catalog that will include the development of job families and career bands, standardized and revising as needed job codes, job titles and levels. Creation of career tracks with refreshed and aligned job descriptions leveraging competency models.
- Review and refresh salary structures.
- Develop and document controls (guidelines) around equitable pay practices ensuring consistency and standardization in support of the compensation philosophy. Design efficient, equitable and competitive pay rule eligibility.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree along with eight (8) or more years of experience in compensation/compensation consulting with experience in hospital, healthcare, and/or higher education. Experience integrating job and compensation structures. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) highly preferred Experience with PeopleSoft, PayScale/MarketPay, and/or Kronos a plus. Experience in developing incentive programs desired.
Job Duties
- Provides key data analysis and consultative support for the design and implementation of compensation programs.
- Performs deep complex analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and models potential impact of alternative designs.
- Conducts a comprehensive analysis on salary structures, job architecture, and career path roadmaps.
- Develops and makes recommendations to maintain competitiveness in the market.
- Evaluates, assesses, and revises/develops compensation plans, pay practices, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with UT Southwestern mission, values, and goals. Prepares proposals, reports, and presentations for key stakeholder/leadership.
- Ensures that compensation solutions are cost effective, market competitive, support institutional goals and strategies, and are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies.
- Creates internal process documentation and recommends enhancements to existing process and procedures.
- Identifies market trends to monitor competitiveness of programs, model cost implications, and recommends innovative and effective solutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
