Job Summary
UT Southwestern is looking to hire a Painter in their Hospital Facilities department. Primarily responsible for paint jobs but is also required to assist other shops with make readies to ensure rooms look well-kept and fresh to promote a high level of education and patient care. In addition to painting, painters on campus are responsible for minor floor repairs whether that be carpet, ceramic tile, or vinyl tile squares. They also handle all sheetrock repairs needed when access is required to make plumbing or other mechanical repairs behind existing walls. Other duties include patching and painting wall blemishes that occur daily with patient, employees, equipment, and material movement in and out of buildings. The paint shop is always requested prior to tours occurring to make sure areas of the tour look pristine. Painters also work on various special projects requested by Administration such as furniture refinishing to improve appearance.
Experience and Education
Required:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or equivalent and knowledge of paints and painting equipment (e.g. brush, roller, solvents, varnishes, lacquers, shellac, etc.) required. Six months experience as a painter in a commercial, institution or healthcare setting preferred.
