Job Summary
UT Southwestern is looking to hire a Sr. Sheetmetal Worker in their Sheet Metal department.
Experience and Education
Required:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED, certification as a Welder, and five (5) years skilled or journeyman level experience as sheet metal worker.
Job Duties:
1. Performs journeyman level work fabricating and installing all types of sheet metal using appropriate equipment.
2. Responsible for journey level work in constructing and maintaining items fabricated with galvanized, stainless, bronze, copper, and/or brass sheet materials.
3. Fabricates, installs or repairs air-duct, vents, downspouts, exhaust systems and hoods, mechanical system components, containers, filing cases, lockers, counters, and other related equipment, structures, or objects.
4. Operates sheet metal forming machines, shears, brakes, folders, bending rolls, cotters, crimpers, punches, drill presses, and a variety of hand tools.
5. Operates soldering and welding equipment in the fabrication or repair of sheet metal equipment, structures, or objects.
6. Performs duties of supervisor in their absence.
