Job Summary

 This position is a member of a team which supports the radiation therapy team as they deliver daily treatments to over 200 patients daily in our clinics. Experience in a busy clinical setting with direct patient contact is required. The position will assist with patient placement in the treatment rooms, fabrication and transport of treatment devices, and other hands-on support for the therapy staff and our patients.  Experience and Education

•  High School diploma plus two (2) years related experience required. May consider prior customer service experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

Job Duties

• Perform highly responsible operations support duties using independent judgment within defined departmental guidelines and according to departmental policies and procedures; perform clinical operational support tasks as assigned.
• Assists therapists with properly routing patients through scheduled clinic activities.
• Addresses patient requests and needs or directs them to appropriate staff when needed.
• Assists with therapy supply levels and linen management.
•  Aids in arranging inpatient transportation to and from clinic as needed.
• May assist in scheduling patients and appointments.
• Assists in maintaining clean, safe and organized work area.
• Maintains current technical skills as needed by attending training programs and seminars to continue level of competency.
• Identifies and notifies manager of patient care issues.
• Maintains current customer service, clinical, and technical skills by attending training programs and seminars to continue level of competency and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures. Provides suggestions for change and assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures.
•  Maintains frequent contact with physicians, residents, fellows, allied health personnel, and other medical and/or non-medical office support personnel to coordinate necessary information to provide optimal level of patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

•  Work requires use of considerable judgment in application of procedures, practices and policies to work problems, organization, and administration of clinical activities.
• Work requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, document in the electronic medical record accurately, remain flexible, be able to work independently and as a team, and adapt to a fast moving environment.
•  Work requires knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to the needs of the clinical specialty.
• Work requires ability to complete most assignments with substantial independence.
• Work requires proficiency in the use of computer technology.
• Work requires ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed primarily in clinical or laboratory area.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
