Job Summary
Join UT Southwestern as an Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator within our Ob/Gyn Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic and help with our commitment to deliver compassionate care and all-around excellence. As a RN Coordinator, you will support the Ob/Gyn Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic by providing excellent patient education for the patient and their families, triaging, and supporting the clinic.
Specifically for the OB/Gyn Department, this role works very closely with the MFM physicians, genetic counselors, and RNs to ensure coordination of care for high risk pregnancies, Mom’s and/or babies. The coordinator serves as the liaison between referring providers and numerous services including Neonatology, the Fetal Care Center at Children’s Medical Center, Palliative Care, Child Life Services, Ronald McDonald House, Social Workers, and Bereavement to ensure that patients have all their needs met during this difficult time. Supports leadership by mentoring and training other MFM clinical team members, assists in amniocenteses, develops Standard Operating Procedures that are evidence-based, as well as Standing or Delegated Medical Orders. The coordinator registers and reviews all prenatal records, referrals, consults, and test results for thoroughness and ensures that they are timely and present in the electronic health record for all members of the multidisciplinary team. Assists with insurance questions and works with billing to ensure coverage. The coordinator maintains a close relationship with patients to ensure they have everything that they need: support, education, and information throughout their pregnancy.

Experience and Education
Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas and BLS certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) are required. Two (2) year of ambulatory clinical nursing experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate team-based care.
Job Duties
· 1. Functions as team lead for a group of clinical staff (POD) assigned to specific patients to ensure efficient and effective patient care coordination of clinical procedures.
· Ensures all patient quality metrics are completed by staff during the clinic visit(s) per protocols by staff to meet ACO requirements.
· Assign clinical duties as needed to ensure effective workflows, patient care requirements are meet and clinical quality and safety measures are followed.
· Works with supervisor to ensure staff has been oriented and trained for duties assigned.
· Monitors patient registries for patients assigned to respective POD.
· Coordinate follow-up and assign duties to clinical staff for patients in POD registries in order to close care gaps as defined by the ambulatory clinical quality program.
· Monitors patient telephone requests and MyChart in-baskets for POD to ensure timely response to patient communications.
· Coordinates team assignments to effectively and efficiently respond to patient messages.
· Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
· **Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
