The Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Department is looking to hire a full time Senior Healthcare Data Analyst to assist with their clinical departments. The Senior Data Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data for the Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Department. This position requires a deep understanding of database management systems and expertise in data analysis techniques. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with the department’s leadership and other stakeholders to develop and maintain efficient data systems and provide insights that support decision-making and improve patient care.
The Senior Data Analyst will support the following areas:
Department Clinical Data requests relating to volumes, quality and finance metrics
Database Team Supervisor/ Direct Team Support/ STS data Extraction
Data Visualization: creation of PowerBI/ Tableau dashboards regarding clinical/ department data
Department Support: Research new process workflows with us of technology and AI
Potential to be involved in clinical research/ clinical database support
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, basic science, or computer related field and three (3) years experience in field directly related to type of database maintained, including experience working with and maintaining large complex databases.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related Information Technology field may be considered as a substitution for up to two (2) years of related experience.
Additional years of progressively responsible related experience may be considered in lieu of stated degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Master’s Degree
Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience in a hospital or clinical setting (does not have be patient care related)
Experience using Epic
Ability to extract, analyze and visualize data from complex data sets
Ability to prioritize/ work on multiple projects at once
Strong communication Leadership Experience
Designs, implements, and evaluates existing or new database applications and recommends improvements.
Directs day-to-day operation and utilization of database system, maintaining its integrity, including performance tuning and monitoring, backup, and recovery.
Isolates and resolves problems affecting database as whole or in part.
Maintains optimal efficiences in one or more databases.
Installs new database applications, tables, and files.
Cooperates with project leaders and advises on efficient usage of database files.
