Job Summary

The Department of Information Resources (IR) The Information Resources Change Management Practitioner plays a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role focuses on the people side of change, which involves preparing, supporting, and equipping people to adopt and use changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, organization structures, and more. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of required changes. These responsibilities also include plans and efforts to anticipate and minimize resistant behaviors from employees and stakeholders who are impacted by the changes. The Change Management Practitioner drives faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of results and outcomes.  This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. 

Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and five (5) years of experience with change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Master’s degree preferred. Change management certification or designation required.
• Project management certification preferred.
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) training or certification(s) required.
• Prosci ADKAR® Model required or certification is required 6 months after hire. 

Job Duties

• Support change management on small, medium, and large-scale projects and at the organizational level.
• Manage own change projects within the change portfolio.
• Assists leadership in managing and supporting the change portfolio. 
• Draw upon change management methodologies, processes, and tools and tailor a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
• Conduct impact assessments and stakeholder analyses.
• Leverage change impact assessments and stakeholder analysis to create actionable deliverables for the core change management plans: Sponsor Plan, People Manager Plan, Communications Plan, and Training Plan.
• Support training efforts. 
• Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs.
• Support communication efforts. 
• Enable the design, development, delivery, and management of key communications. 
• Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics. Identify and manage anticipated and persistent resistance.
• Support project managers, project teams, and other change practitioners in integrating change management activities into the project plans.
• Acts as a coach and mentor to less experienced Change Management Practitioners.
• Acts as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the critical role of change sponsor.
• Provides direct support and coaching to frontline managers and supervisors as they help direct reports through change transitions.
• Evaluate and ensure user readiness.
• Manage stakeholders. 
• Track and report issues. 
• Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Work requires strong organizational and technical skills. Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts. Experience with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle. Work requires the ability to work with internal and external individuals from different disciplines and different levels of training. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent active listening skills. Work requires self-motivation with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Work requires flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. An expert in understanding how people go through change and the change process. An expert coach to people managers to support them in coaching their employees through a change.
