The Department of Applied Clinical Research is seeking a full-time, 12-month appointment for a research faculty position in the School of Health Professions at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
1) Develop a successful nationally recognized research program; 2) Be a collegial member of a multidisciplinary laboratory; 3) Perform research using a wide array of clinical and physiologic techniques in humans; 4) Produce high quality research publications; 5) Obtain extramural funding; 6) Provide research mentoring to students in the Applied Clinical Research PhD program; 7) Develop and deliver instruction in course work for PhD-level students designed to provide the knowledge base and skills necessary to conduct patient-oriented clinical research and basic/translational research; and 8) Aid in oversight of PhD program educational operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Ph.D. in a clinically relevant discipline is required.
· Heavy experience in clinically relevant basic science and/or patient-centered clinical research as evidenced by professional accomplishments such as peer reviewed publications and past participation in sponsor funded research (e.g., National Institutes of Health).
· Candidates must also have a history of participation in collaborative research projects.
· Competitive candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of designing and conducting basic science research and/or clinical research.
