The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Clinical Sciences at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas are seeking applications for Assistant Professor/Associate and Professor level faculty, a doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. The Department of Clinical Sciences has the mission of achieving excellence in the clinical sciences that has already been achieved in the basic sciences.
Competitive candidates would have at least 2-5 years of work experience for this position should demonstrate through publications, presentations, and previous teaching experience a strong professional desire to advance and strengthen the field of biostatistics as applied to translational and clinical research. We seek to develop a strong professional academic program focused on accomplishing evidenced-based translational research through the acquisitions of peer-reviewed funding for clinical researchers. The candidate must have a strong background in biostatistics as evidenced by professional experience and/or accomplishments should include innovative contributions to peer-reviewed publications, obtainment or active participation in peer-reviewed research funding, involvement on academic/institutional committees, and successful teaching abilities in leading interactive and thought-provoking coursework at the graduate level. The candidate must have an excellent interpersonal and communication style essential for developing and building collaborative research projects throughout the medical environment. Proficient computing in either SAS, SPSS, or R, proven knowledge of designing and conducting clinical trials will be required.
