The Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks applications for a faculty epidemiologist position (rank open depending on experience). UT Southwestern Department of Clinical Sciences is a unique, interdisciplinary home for population science, clinical research, and development of novel research methodologies. Intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are encouraged and facilitated.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a closely related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills and advanced expertise in research design and methodology are required. Candidates with expertise in population-based cancer research and health outcomes research, working experience in a collaborative biomedical research setting, and record of extramural grant support are highly preferred.
Resources for conducting research include access to large and diverse cohorts of patients receiving care through Parkland Health & Hospital System, the Dallas County integrated safety-set system, and Southwestern Health Resources, an integrated network comprised of 27 hospitals, 300 clinics, and more than 2,000 physicians, spanning a 16-county service area with more than 6 million residents.
