The Division of Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, is seeking a full time Nuclear Medicine Radiologist. Candidates must be ABR board certified or eligible with nuclear radiology CAQ or ABNM board certified or eligible. Dual certification and a commitment to excellence in clinical, teaching, scholarly activity and academic service is preferred. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
The Division of Nuclear Medicine supervises and interprets over 20, 000 examinations per year at the Clements University Hospital & Clinics as well as at the Parkland Hospital & Health System, including General Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, nuclear cardiology, and DEXA. The division also oversees a theranostic program with 131 iodine, 223 Ra, and 177 Lu therapies.
The division hosts an ACGME accredited nuclear medicine residency program, a PET/CT fellowship program, and an integrated ABR/ABNM training program for dual certification.
There are more than 12 clinical trials with investigational diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals opened and accruing in the division of nuclear medicine, including NCI sponsored and industry sponsored multi center clinical trials. We hold investigator initiated INDs for multiple investigational PET radiopharmaceuticals. There is also ample opportunity to collaborate in wide ranging pre clinical novel radiopharmaceutical research projects within the division of Nuclear Medicine and the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program.
There are two clinical PET/CTs, eight SPECT/CTs, and two dedicated cardiac SPECTs at the University Hospital and Parkland Hospital and Health System. A brand new clinical PET/CT (Siemens mCT flow) is being installed, a five-ring GE digital research PET/CT will be installed in 2019 and a PET/MRI program is imminent. For this reason, interest and/or experience in PET/MRI is desirable.
