The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dallas, Texas, is seeking a research scientist to join our faculty. The Department of PM&R includes 27 board-certified physiatrists 4 PhD research faculty as well as 33 residents and 4 fellows. We have busy inpatient and outpatient practices at UT Southwestern as well as at our teaching county hospital, Parkland Health and Hospital System. UT Southwestern has outstanding core research facilities and resources to support research faculty. This position may also have a secondary appointment in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. This position will have a leadership role in the development of a Human Performance Lab and research development in the Department. Academic rank will be awarded at the level commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a PhD in Rehabilitation Science, Rehabilitation Psychology or other related area of study. Post- doctorate training is preferred. Five to seven years research experience in an academic setting is preferred.
Duties include: Development of your personal research program and collaboration with other investigators with shared interests. You will be responsible for set-up, recruitment, and supervision of research personnel and for submission of grant proposals for continued external funding of research efforts. Candidate will also provide administrative leadership for the Department’s research division and in the establishment of a Human Performance Lab.
