Experience and Education
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge, judgement and experience in performing billing and collections for transplant accounts. This includes calculating the physician and hospital share and working with MSP to transfer the physician's share to that department.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge, judgement and experience in performing billing and collections for standard of care services provided to research patients. Provides guidance to those involved in the research process on appropriate billing practices.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge, judgement and experience in performing billing and collections for shared services with Parkland Hospital and other applicable entities. Advises PFS management, Managed Care dept. management, research coordinators, compliance staff and other stakeholders about issues related to billing and collection of shared services accounts.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge, judgement and experience in performing billing and collections for special programs such as Komen, VA, plastics, elective procedures, Student Health, etc. Processes adjustments as needed to zero out these accounts.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge, judgement and experience performing other duties related to special billing such as THCIC reporting, education of pertinent staff and management, etc.
Utilize systems, tools, and department resources to achieve production and quality targets for resolution of patient accounts. recommendations.
Investigates and responds to questions or requests for additional information in a timely and professional manner to ensure proper, timely and accurate payment of patient accounts.
Attends in-services, classes and meetings related to all operations to the PFS department. Understands reimbursement of all 3rd party payors.
Completes required online education with minimal/no prompting.
