The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is actively recruiting a full time general physiatrist to be the Medical Director of the inpatient rehab unit at THD/Presbyterian Hospital. The Department of PM&R includes over 40 board-certified physiatrists, as well as 33 residents and 3 fellows. We have busy inpatient and outpatient practices at UT Southwestern as well as at our teaching county hospital, Parkland Health and Hospital System, and Texas Health partner facilities. Practice opportunities abound in integrated clinics with fellow faculty members. The ideal candidate will have experience providing leadership in the inpatient setting and treating complex medical conditions.
Qualifications: The position requires a doctorate in medicine from an accredited university. Preferably, the candidate will have 3-5 years physiatry practice experience. In addition, the selected candidate must have or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Bilingual is a plus.
Duties include: Providing direct inpatient care activities at Presbyterian Hospital and appointed as medical director. Potential other locations are UTSW main campus clinics and Parkland Health and Hospital System; possibility to participate in medical student, resident and fellowship training and research activities as well as lay education.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
