Job Summary
The Physician Assistant, Pediatric Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery will be working with a cardiothoracic surgical team within the UT Southwestern Division at Children’s Health Dallas. This position will include first/second assist for complex pediatric cardiothoracic surgical cases including VAD assist devices, orthotopic heart transplantation; and VA-ECMO, bedside procedures including chest tube, pacer wire removal; wound care monitoring & management; provide pre-and post-operative history and physicals; provide family/patient education including obtaining consent for patients requiring cardiac surgery; High degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise required. Salary is $120,000+annually!
Scheduled Hours: Mon-Fri, 10-hour shifts (including call and holiday rotations)

Experience and Education
Call rotation with additional call pay compensation. Desiring a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (RNFA required) or Physician Assistant who is interested in joining an innovative and expanding surgical program.

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a clinical environment. The incumbent may be exposed to body fluids and infectious diseases.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
