The Division of Psychology is seeking an outstanding clinical neuropsychologist with assessment and intervention expertise. The position is primarily clinical with opportunities to participate in research activities through the O’Donnell Brain institute. UT Southwestern is a large, cutting-edge medical system which includes the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion, and partners with other major teaching hospitals in the Southwestern Medical District, including Children’s Health℠ Children’s Medical Center Dallas, and Parkland Health and Hospital Systems, as well as the forthcoming Texas Behavioral Health Center at UT Southwestern. With over 25 adult and pediatric neuropsychologists on campus, there is a large professional community with whom to collaborate.
This position is located in the Outpatient Neuropsychology Service within the primary University Hospital system, with some inpatient consultation. Responsibilities include provision of clinical neuropsychological assessment and consultation services, development and implementation of intervention strategies, supervision of pre- and post-doctoral trainees, and participation in the overall academic mission, with opportunities for involvement in our APA accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. Primary patient populations include movement disorders, dementia, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, stroke, and epilepsy, as well as neuropsychiatric presentations and a broad range of complex medical disorders.
We are seeking a candidate who espouses a flexible approach to assessment and is experienced in working with adults with a range of neurocognitive disorders. Requirements include ABPP/CN-eligible postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology. Preference will be given to board certified clinicians experienced with the above patient populations and to Spanish bilingual candidates. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection for the position, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position.
