The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a visionary and enthusiastic leader to serve as the next Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs. The successful candidate will join this growing academic practice that is greatly expanding its service area, building new practices, and hiring a significant number of family physicians to join the practice.

The qualified candidate will have considerable experience, preferably at the Associate Professor level or above, and have demonstrated progressive administrative and operational proficiency. Specifically, this leader will oversee clinical operations for our Family Medicine residency program and faculty practices, co-lead the growth of a new Primary Care Service Line, and oversee our inpatient services.

Position Description
Job Responsibilities:
· Oversee clinical programs and operations, quality improvement efforts and support medical directors and other leaders.
· Co-Lead the growth of the new Primary Care Service Line and co-managing regional satellite practices.
· Plan, manage, implement and evaluate clinical programs that promote the delivery of value-based care in a cost-efficient manner.
· Continue and expand efforts to promote practice redesign to achieve optimal patient outcomes and improve the clinical team’s joy in practicing family medicine.
· As a member of the department’s Executive Committee, contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategic planning, budgeting, management, and operations.
· Provide direct patient care and family medicine education.
· Promote scholarships in family medicine and population health.
· Facilitate streamlined integration of clinical services of the Department of Family & Community Medicine across clinical sites in the DFW region.
Required Qualifications
· Board certified in Family Medicine with a track record of success in the administration of large clinical programs, preferably in an academic environment.
· Successful candidates will have progressive leadership and administrative experience in family medicine educational, research, and clinical programs.
· Eligible for appointment as associate professor or professor at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. Initial faculty appointment will reflect the successful applicant’s qualifications and professional achievements.
· A well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in the department is preferred.
· Licensed or license eligible in Texas.
· Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and learner environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member.
