The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Touchstone Diabetes Center, is seeking an Assistant Professor with Tenure-Accruing Track. The position requires an M.D./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in basic science and 2-5 years postdoctoral research experience in an endocrinology related field.
We are looking for a candidate specializing in adipose tissue biology and metabolic disease with an in-depth insight into its impact on in vitro models of human adipocyte subtypes. The individual will be responsible for conducting experiments taking advantage of an expanded adipose atlas to include additional depots and states. The expectation of this work will provide results that will significantly advance the understanding of the physiological responses to changes in cellular composition during weight gain and loss, in both mice and humans. We expect the candidate to be proficient in bioinformatics. Additional duties will include the teaching and training of graduate students, house staff and fellows.
