The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding individual for the Pediatric Rheumatology Division at UT Southwestern in collaboration with Scottish Rite for Children and Children’s Health.
The mission of the Division is to: 1) provide outstanding care for children with rheumatic disease, 2) foster the inquiry and discovery of new knowledge to advance the field and improve patient outcomes, 3) develop the next generation of Pediatric Rheumatology leaders, 4) promote compassionate advocacy for children with rheumatic disease, and 5) cultivate a healthy, thriving, inclusive team culture.
The successful candidate will provide care to children with rheumatic disease in the outpatient and inpatient settings. The successful candidate will also participate in the continued growth of clinical and translational research that is fundamentally important as we strive to improve outcomes for children with rheumatic disease. The candidate must have a strong clinical and scholarly backgrounds, with an ambition to succeed in discovery of new knowledge in basic, clinical, or translational research.
The Division consists of 5 faculty and has continuously trained fellows from all over the world for more than 20 years. The Division has a long-standing collaboration with the leading translational researcher in Pediatric Rheumatology to improve the understanding of disease pathogenesis of pediatric rheumatic diseases. The Division also actively participates in the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance as a large center site. Clinical activities of the Division are conducted at Scottish Rite for Children and Children’s Health where we strive to provide the highest quality of comprehensive care to large, diverse population of patients with pediatric rheumatic disease. The multidisciplinary team at Scottish Rite Hospital includes nurses, pediatric nurse practitioners, physical and occupational therapists, a psychologist, and dietitian. Beyond the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, the successful candidate will enjoy the exceptionally rich biomedical research enterprise at UT Southwestern including the brand-new Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health, the Clinical Informatics Center, and the Clinical and Translational Science Award Program.
Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology.

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
