The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM), is seeking a PhD researcher with interests that encompass outcomes, health services, policy, health equity, population health, informatics, quality improvement, or patient safety.
The University of Texas Southwestern is a top-rated health professions and public health school with nationally renowned clinical training, patient care, and research programs, as well as the new O’Donnell School of Public Health.
The individual in this position would join a group of researchers at UT Southwestern, in and beyond GIM, with collective expertise and interests in epidemiology, clinical outcomes, health services and population health, policy, quality improvement, and patient safety. This community includes a growing research program in GIM and others in the Department of Medicine; the UT Southwestern Program on Policy Evaluation and Learning; an institutional Clinical and Translational Science Award Program; and the O’Donnell School of Public Health.
Collectively, these groups and units will enable the individual in this position to access data and other supports (e.g., biostatistics, informatics, stakeholder and community engagement) as well as collaboration, career development, and mentorship opportunities. Our affiliations with large university, safety net, and Veterans Affairs health care delivery systems also provide numerous opportunities for observational, interventional, and mixed methods research.
Candidate must have a MD-PhD, a PhD or equivalent degree and the ability to direct independently funded research programs/studies.
