JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Network Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of a complex academic medical environment, supporting clinical, research, and educational operations. In this role, you will lead a team of network engineers, managing key infrastructure such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and optical networking, while ensuring seamless, secure connectivity across the institution. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing Cisco ACI across multiple data centers, Palo Alto Strata firewalls and GlobalProtect.  Additionally, this role involves planning and executing network upgrades, cloud integration, and new technology implementations. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

• Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, optical networking, and the research network.
• Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.
• Manage Cisco ACI for scalable, secure data center networking across multiple data centers.
• Manage Palo Alto Strata firewalls and GlobalProtect VPN to secure clinical and research data.
• Monitor network performance to proactively address issues and ensure 24/7 operational support.
• Manage Aruba wireless infrastructure for seamless, secure campus-wide connectivity.
• Manage remote access for secure connectivity for clinicians, researchers, and staff.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and implementations, including cloud integration as needed.
• Support the research network to ensure high performance, data integrity, and secure collaboration.
• Manage infrastructure across multiple data centers for redundancy and high availability.
• Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change records.
• Oversee network troubleshooting and incident response for outages and performance issues.
• Lead projects involving new technology integration, legacy system migration, and cloud implementation.
• Stay current on emerging network technologies and data center trends.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
  Bachelor’s Degree With major coursework in computer science, math, information systems, or other related field or High School Diploma or GED

• Experience
  8 years Progressively responsible information technology experience with Bachelor’s Degree or
  10 years Progressively responsible and applicable information technology experience with High School Diploma and
  4 years In supervisory or managerial role

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

• Manages one or more technically complex sections or divisions of Information Resources, utilizing effective management, communication, consulting, and customer service skills.
• Develops, revises, implements, recommends, and interprets policies, procedures, and complex projects for section(s) to ensure all applicable laws, governmental guidelines, and university policies are followed and that employees are treated in equitable manner.
• Manages and coordinates various complex projects and development programs for section(s) by ensuring all tasks are completed within established deadlines.
• Consults with campus departments in assessing complex technical requirements that meet needs of their operation.
• Completes work specific to assigned section using appropriate advanced technologies and effective communication skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
