JOB SUMMARY
The patients cared for in the Multi-Specialty ICU are a variety of Medical ICU patients and Cardiac ICU patients. Some common diagnosis cared for in this department are most medical diagnosis, STEMI, post cath lab procedures, Heart/Lung transplant workups, and advanced heart failure. Multi-Specialty ICU RNs are scheduled to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and every other weekend at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital (CUH) on the UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center campus in Dallas. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· One year of ICU RN experience, two years preferred.
· Current Texas RN license or Compact State license with multistate privilege
· (BLS) & (ACLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC),
· Excellent customer service skills, problem solving and sound judgement
· NIHSS & BSN preferred, not required
JOB DUTIES
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily performed in a hospital unit/environment. The incumbent may be exposed to body fluids and infectious diseases. Pass pre-employment physical exam including colorblind testing.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of the Vice President for Human Resources Administration, or his/her designee.
