We are pleased to announce that we are recruiting for an outstanding Chief Psychologist for our Inpatient services at the Texas Behavioral Health Center at UT Southwestern.
Profile
We are seeking an energetic leader who will support the integration of clinical innovation and research as he or she oversees psychological services at the Texas Behavioral Health Center at UT Southwestern, which is one of the few state psychiatric hospitals in the country operated by an academic institution. Faculty will work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment and will have opportunities to innovate on models of care for patients with serious mental illness. This is a state-of-the-art facility which includes Medical, Forensic, and Interventional Psychiatry (ECT, IV ketamine, TMS), as well as a Partial Hospitalization program, with 8 adult and 6 pediatric units.
This lead position will require administrative oversight of a team of psychologists and direct patient care, as well as teaching and supervision of clinical psychology graduate students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows, in addition to psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience in a hospital environment and a strong track record of clinical teaching and research is a plus. This position will be in the Division of Psychology and will work closely with the Division Chief and the Director of Psychological Services in developing programs and ensuring the highest quality of psychological care for patients as well as helping to integrate research and education in the hospital. Opportunities for teaching and supervision in our well-respected and long-running doctoral and internship programs in clinical psychology bring access to psychology trainees at all levels. Current areas of emphasis in psychology include neuropsychology, pediatric psychology, health psychology, and psychopathology.
Candidates must be Board Certified or Board-Eligible for the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Candidates who are not currently Board Certified or Board Eligible will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to relevant experience and qualifications. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position.
