The UT Southwestern Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting a senior laboratory research Ph.D. scientist or M.D./Ph.D. physician-scientist for Molecular Medicine section. The section has existing strengths within mechanistic studies of DNA damage/ repair and radiotherapy translation in combination with novel systemic therapies. There is a strong strategic desire to expand/enhance research into realms of immune and metabolic modulation of cancer behavior or other novel areas to understand and defeat cancer.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. Degree in chemistry, biology, biomedical engineering or closely related disciplines and have completed 2-3 years of postdoctoral training. Successful candidates will work on synthesis of complex, naturally occurring, molecular architectures. Candidates should have an interest in initiating novel therapies and collaborative research with other departments. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and personal attributes of initiative, problem-solving and teamwork.
