JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
The Research Technician is the perfect position for those who would like to gain further research experience before embarking on the next phase of their career (for example, graduate school, medical school, or industry). This position provides ample exposure to various cutting-edge single cell and spatial genomics technologies, next-generation sequencing, and data science methodologies. The Research Technician will be directly mentored by a senior fellow in the lab and work closely with the PI to take part in the whole process of one or several important projects (from project inception all the way to publication). The Research Technician will also have the opportunity to lead an independent project after receiving proper trainings. Candidates should have basic knowledge and experience in molecular and cell biology. Motivated individuals who are eager to learn new things and are not afraid to work on high-risk/high-reward projects are strongly encouraged to apply.

JOB DUTIES
- Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field.
- Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.
- Assists in collection of data for project reports.
- Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures.
- May plan for, and provide working supervision to, work of laboratory personnel of lower grade engaged in limited phase of research project.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
